When Anna and Paul were searching for a suitable Cornwall wedding venue to get married, they wanted to make sure they could be somewhere with their close family for two days. They fell in love with our barn, the tranquility and how relaxed they felt when they came for a viewing – music to our ears! Read on to find out more about their much longed for outdoor pink and blue wedding in Cornwall!

Why Anna and Paul chose Tredudwell Manor
Anna and Paul were lovely enough to share exactly why they chose us as their Cornwall wedding venue: “We first went to view Tredudwell Manor because of the stunning local area and proximity to the coast as well as the fact we’d seen it was somewhere we could have close family stay with us for 2 days. We fell in love with the place as soon as we saw it; we loved the beautiful & tranquil outdoor space, the view and the modern and spacious indoor barn. Bex and Hayley made it very clear Tredudwell is not a wedding factory, the individual attention we received and relaxed timescale from arrival to departure confirmed this, once we convinced them we were local enough to get married there! We were blessed with sun and blue skies (allowing for our much sought after outdoor ceremony), but it was important to have the reassurance of an indoor space given the absence of a UK Summer in 2024! We also wanted a space big enough to have a ceilidh in the evening.”

Gorgeous rose details for the flowers, wedding cake and decor
“My fabulous mother in law made me a beautiful bouquet filled with pink roses, freesias and gypsophila. She also did all the table and floral arrangements (inside and out) along with my new sister in law. They used a mix of fresh and silk flowers that were placed in upcycled coffee jars, bud vases, urns and around pillars. My mother in law also made our cake(s)! It was a 3- tiered fruit cake with a layer of roses between each tier and a personalised topper of our family by Tinylove that is a keepsake currently above our fireplace! Unique Designs provided the pew ends, top table floor arrangement, order of the day/table plans and individualised menu cards which also served as place settings.”

A local feast for the happy couple
Anna and Paul chose one of our recommended caterers for a locally sourced feast: “Our caterer Richard McGeown did us an amazing 3-course wedding breakfast. As well as being a phenomenal chef he was very relaxed about everything. We had quite a few guests, including two of our children, with food allergies; Richard and his team were not fazed. He was a real pleasure to work with and the food was spectacular using fresh locally sourced (and caught) ingredients.”

Tandem bike, a singing waiter and fireworks – what a day!
We absolutely love Anna and Paul’s favourite moments of the day: “Cycling on our tandem down the hill (whilst in a long dress) was a special moment and something I’d nervously thought about for ages but wasn’t sure I’d be brave enough to do! I managed it with no oil stains somehow! The two complete surprises from Paul’s parents have to be the real highlight of the day. Firstly we had a singing waiter who had everyone dancing around the floor after the starter! Then we had the most fantastic, unexpected fireworks display to top
off our perfect day.”

Advice for future couples planning at Tredudwell
We think this advice from Anna is so vital. We often find ourselves supporting couples with budget for their wedding so they don’t compromise. Here’s what Anna said: “I went to many venues in many price brackets before my partner pointed out that this one was the best we’d seen by a country mile! Go with your gut instinct. Having helpful parents and in-laws is also vital when searching for economical solutions to complex problems like decorations, cakes, dresse, etc… Fundamentally we didn’t regret anything we paid for nor anything we did ourselves to cut costs. We were grateful that everything was sufficiently planned and everyone we know worked so hard that we had some time in the 24 hours before to reflect on the commitment we were about to make to each other! It helps if you’re good at picking your weather window 18 months out…” (Whilst it didn’t rain on Anna and Paul’s wedding day, fear not we are very experienced with the Great British weather and have written a guide on what happens if it rains on your wedding day here)
A massive thank you to Anna and Paul for sharing your wedding with us at Tredudwell. If you’d like to know more about our latest availability, please download our brochure or get in touch.
