Today on our blog we are delighted to share all the details of Emily & Mitch’s Cornwall wedding day which was a real DIY family and friends affair. We loved hosting everyone for this incredible day, so we asked Emily, the bride, to share a few words of wisdom to inspire you if you’re planning a Cornwall wedding here at Tredudwell. Before we dive into their advice, check out their gorgeous wedding film by Sean White Films.

Why did you choose Tredudwell as your Cornwall wedding venue?
Tredudwell Manor was the only venue we viewed, we knew as soon we saw the beautiful backdrop and met Hayley! We wanted something that would could put our own stamp on, something that felt pretty and private and really felt special – Tredudwell was everything and more we were looking for.

What did you all wear for your wedding day?
My dress was from Elaine Rawlings by Justin Alexander, I wasn’t sure what I wanted but I knew my bridal style would be simple but classic. I wanted to look back in 50 years and love everything I picked still. My hair was done by Natalie who is based at Stevens Brown in Truro and has been my hairdresser for 18 years so she was a must! I don’t, as standard, wear a lot of makeup so I did a lot of research into someone who could do a really soft glam, Anna from Balance of Beautee did such a good job of this and was just the nicest person and really brought great vibes to the wedding suite.

How did you choose how to style our Cornwall wedding venue for your big day?
We did all the styling ourselves with a lot of help from family and friends. Mitch designed all of the beautiful wedding stationery from the menus to the seating plans which received a lot of compliments about how impactful they were and really fitted our style on the day. My dad built the top table and the arch! We wanted it to look understated but still an element of detail. We used The Knotted Napkin for our linen napkins which was the perfect colour to tie it all together.

Who was your Cornwall wedding florist and which flowers did you choose?
For our Cornwall wedding day, our flowers were from Blew Flowers who were incredible at being open to our ideas and at communicating. We had a range of roses, lisianthus, peonies, stocks, some cosmos and gypsophila, along with lots of foliage and greenery.

Tell us about your wedding cake and catering?
We always wanted cupcakes purely for ease in the evening – everyone can just grab one and carry on dancing. We used the Willow Cakery and had caramel cupcakes and a lemon flavoured 9 inch cake. For catering, we went with White Radish as we really wanted to pick a caterer where we could adapt the menu and make it personal to things we loved! We are still hearing raving reviews about the canapés and the cupcakes!

Tell us a bit about your wedding photographer and videographer?
For our wedding photographer we went with Grant Lampard. He was recommended to us by Tredudwell Manor and as soon as we saw his photos we were sold. He was so great at getting everyone into the correct place snd making everyone feel super comfortable on the day.
We had Sean White as our videographer who was also recommended by Tredudwell, as soon as we saw how personal and emotional the preview videos were, our decision was made!
Both of them created such a lovely atmosphere on the day, not a single laugh in any of the photos or videos was forced, they are so genuinely funny and they both had preview pictures and videos to us 24 hours after the wedding which was so amazing!

What was the best part of your Cornwall wedding day?
The whole day was so magical but we would have to say the evening – we had a live band, we didn’t stop dancing, eating pizza, singing, sparklers, and just really soaking up the moment!

Do you have any words of wisdom?
Don’t worry to much about the small things, planning a wedding especially without a planner can be overwhelming, but don’t forget the reason you’re getting married.
Thank you so much Emily for sharing all the juicy details about your wedding to Mitch. It really was an honour to help you plan your big wedding at our barn wedding venue. If you found this inspirational, please do check out our other real weddings on our Cornwall wedding blog here.
