1. Managing your guest list

You’ve spent months planning your big day, and you want to invite all your loved ones, friends, family, and colleagues from work. Alternatively, you may have complex family dynamics, or simply be a private couple who only wish to have a select handful of guests. We know that not everyone’s family setup is straightforward, and if there have been difficult relationships within the family, this can bring added complications and stress to a wedding. Instead, by keeping it small for an intimate wedding, you can choose exactly who you as a couple want there, without the stress of managing the difficult relationships.  It might be a hard decision to cut down but that’s the great thing about having loads of options getting married here at Tredudwell. You can have up to 220 wedding guests for a larger wedding, or up to 20 for an intimate wedding in Cornwall with us. You choose to have a smaller ceremony with a bigger evening party. The guests you invite will have an awesome time, no matter what size wedding you choose.

2. Managing your wedding budget

When it comes to planning your wedding, there really is so much choice with how you spend your money. There’s food, music, outfits, decor, drinks, entertainment, and more! With a big wedding comes a lot more costs, you need to keep them fed and watered and entertained of course! But with an intimate wedding, you can cut back on those additional costs and not have to spend so much of your money on a big day (particularly if you didn’t want a big celebration in the first place!)

4. What kind of atmosphere are you looking for?

A small intimate wedding can have a more relaxed and personal feel. Guests can mingle easily, and the event may feel more like a close-knit gathering. A bigger wedding typically means a big party. There’s a more festive and lively atmosphere with a grander style of celebration.

5. Down to your personal preference

A big wedding will appeal to social butterflies, couples who enjoy large parties and want to make a big impact with their wedding. It will allow for more elaborate decorations and entertainment for the atmosphere. A small intimate wedding will suit couples who prefer low-key events, focusing on meaningful moments and personal touches.

Ultimately, the choice between a small wedding and a big wedding depends on your personal priorities, budget, and vision for your special day. Consider what aspects are most important to you and your partner, and choose the option that best aligns with your preferences and circumstances.
