What kind of wedding was this?
A classic, personal wedding in Cornwall at Tredudwell Manor, with a church ceremony at St Hydroc’s in Lanhydrock, a sage green and blush pink colour scheme, and an extraordinary number of personal touches planned and created entirely by the bride.
Key details you need to know:
Church ceremony at St Hydroc’s Lanhydrock | Three-course wedding breakfast by Beetham Food | Cocktail hour with mojitos and Stretton Coolers | Evening wood fired pizza by Doh Pizza (16 flavours) | First dance choreographed by professional dance captain Rachel | Photography and film by Cat Uglow | Band: Feedback
Why we loved this wedding:
Rachel, a professional dance captain, choreographed the first dance herself and taught Jack the lifts in the weeks before the wedding. The personal touches she created for their day, from a 36-word crossword to a puppy adoption corner for the children, made every guest feel genuinely thought about.

A classic, blush and sage celebration full of personal touches
Rachel had been planning her wedding since she was about six years old. So when she and Jack finally chose the date (06.06.26, partly because they liked the sound of it), she had a very clear picture of what she wanted and it all started with choosing a manor house wedding venue.

Tredudwell Manor stole her heart on the first viewing and everything that followed made their day one of Cornwall’s most romantic weddings.

Why They Chose Tredudwell
“As soon as I viewed Tredudwell Manor, I knew it was the one,” Rachel says simply.

Having grown up in Cornwall, with Jack having lived here for nearly 20 years, getting married somewhere in the county was non-negotiable. But it was all the details at Tredudwell that sealed it: the light, airy bridal suite, the Roman Temples overlooking the wildflower meadow and the pond.

And then there was the painting of the ballerina on the stairs. Rachel is a professional dance captain. She didn’t need much more convincing after that.
Accessibility mattered to the couple too, and we are proud to be an accessible wedding venue. One guest even commented that the disabled toilet was among the best they’d ever been in.

We love to share recommendations too – Rachel found her hairdresser, Becky from Bear Bridal, through our recommendations and says she couldn’t have chosen anyone better.

She found their photographer Cat Uglow through Tredudwell’s Instagram. Our team received the ale delivery in advance, greeted every supplier on the day, and flexed the timing when the weather unexpectedly cleared. We also arranged additional accommodation nights and extra breakfast guests when the family needed it.

A Beautiful Church Wedding Ceremony at St Hydroc’s, Lanhydrock

Jack and Rachel chose a traditional church wedding ceremony at St Hydroc’s in Lanhydrock, and it was everything they hoped for. The service was deeply personal, with Rachel’s father and Jack’s sister delivering readings, Rachel’s mother (a priest) leading the prayers, and Rachel’s sister playing the piano during the signing of the register.

Rachel created the order of service herself, turning it into a magazine complete with photographs from their pre-wedding shoot with photographer Cat Uglow, portraits of the bridal and groom’s parties, and details of the wedding breakfast to come.

As the couple left the church after the service, the rain that had threatened all morning stopped and the sun came out. We got a message from Rachel asking to abandon the wet weather plans and adjust the timings and the day they had been planning unfolded exactly as they’d imagined.

The Personal Touches & Gorgeous Blush & Sage colour scheme

The colour palette was sage green and blush pink, chosen for its timelessness. Rachel designed and created all the styling herself, and the result was romantic from the first detail to the last.

Three bridesmaids wore blush pink, two wore floral sage. Each bridesmaid chose the style of her own dress so she felt comfortable and beautiful. It worked perfectly.

All the flowers were DIY – a beautiful personal touch. Rachel’s bouquet was handmade by her mother Nicki and included faux cherry blossom, brought back from Japan by Nicki. The buttonholes were made by Jack’s mother, Alison.

The wedding logo Rachel designed appeared throughout the day, on menus, napkins, coasters, bar runners and more. On one side of each coaster: the logo. On the other: “Let’s party!”

Rachel made individual menus for every guest, with their meal choices and name attached. She created a 36-word sip and solve crossword for the tables.

She made a “Find the Guest Bingo” with 24 facts for guests to match to the right person. She made door hangers for every room in the manor house so guests knew exactly where they were staying. She put together bathroom boxes in the toilets, stocked with plasters, hair brushes, stain removing pens, a mini sewing kit, and anything else a guest might need mid-celebration.
For the children, she set up a puppy adoption corner (!!) where each child chose a dog plush to take home. Jack’s daughter, their flower girl, spent the day photographing guests on a polaroid camera. Each guest stuck their photo into the guest book and wrote a note alongside it.

And the cake: three tiers of lemon, chocolate orange, and carrot, made by Stewart Blackburn of Blackburn’s Cakes. Stewart is the grandfather of Rachel’s best friend, who passed away in 2017. Driving the cake down from Yorkshire himself was his way of being part of the day. Alongside it: a large Colin and a large Connie the Caterpillar from M&S, by Jack’s personal request.

Rachel had also gone pottery painting at her hen do and painted a plate and bowl that were used to serve slices of the wedding cake on the day. There is not a single detail here that wasn’t thought about.

Time to eat, drink and be merry with their loved ones

Guests arrived to the welcome reception with mimosas, cloudy apple juice, or elderflower, accompanied by canapés from Beetham Food: pork meatballs with smokey tomato chilli dip, Yorkshire puddings with plant sausage and onion gravy, arancini with tomato and mozzarella, crispy duck pancake rolls with plum and ginger sauce, and croutes.

The three-course wedding breakfast was a proper celebration of good food. Starters were butternut squash soup with chilli, coconut and coriander, classic prawn cocktail, or chicken liver pâté, all with Cornish artisan bread. Mains were sliced beef sirloin with Yorkshire pudding and gravy, roasted chicken supreme with lemon herb stuffing, or a bell pepper filled with roasted vegetable and herb couscous, served with roast potatoes, carrots, greens and honey parsnips.

Dessert was something a little different: platters of sweet canapés, including scones with jam and cream, honeycomb ice cream, meringue with clotted cream and summer berries, white chocolate cheesecake, brownies, and chocolate profiteroles. Guests were delighted.

The cocktail hour was handled by the Tredudwell team, with mojitos and Stretton Coolers. Jack had also brought a guest ale from his favourite brewery, Firebrand, which Hayley received in advance so the couple didn’t have to worry about transporting it on the day.

For the evening, Nick from Doh Pizza arrived with wood fired pizzas in 16 unique flavours. (The couple had spent a good portion of their engagement eating their way around Cornwall’s wood fired pizza options before choosing. Worth it.)

Rachel’s close friends Rhona and Sean, known as Mr and Mrs Lloyd, are a singer and saxophone duo. They provided the music for the welcome reception before joining the party as guests for the rest of the day.

The band for the evening was Feedback, a firm favourite of Jack’s from attending several of their gigs. Rachel got tambourines for guests to dance with, inspired by having seen Feedback before. The barn, apparently, was never quiet.

Cornwall Hire provided wedding-themed mini golf and soft play. The mini golf was a hit. The soft play, Rachel notes, was thoroughly enjoyed by several adults as the evening went on.

Jack’s father’s friend drove the couple to church and back in his Ford Anglia. It was, by all accounts, the perfect car for them.

Something special to remember – the first dance
Rachel is a professional dance captain. She choreographed the first dance herself to “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims. It included lifts.

Jack had a few weeks to learn his part. He delivered an exceptional performance. Rachel, who has professionally critiqued dancers her entire career, had no notes.
Final Advice on choosing a Tredudwell wedding
“The Tredudwell team were wonderful to work with from start to finish,” Rachel says. “Whatever ideas you have, ask Tredudwell if they can help make it happen. They go above and beyond and want to help create the day you dream of. The guests were all in awe of Tredudwell and its surroundings, just as we were on that first viewing and every time we visited since.”

Questions about this wedding
What is it like to have a church wedding followed by a reception at Tredudwell Manor?
St Hydroc’s Church in Lanhydrock is a short drive from Tredudwell Manor, making it a natural and beautiful pairing for couples who want a traditional church ceremony followed by a celebration in the grounds and barn. Jack and Rachel’s wedding in June 2026 is a lovely example of how the two can work seamlessly together, with the Tredudwell team coordinating suppliers and timings while the couple enjoyed their church service.
Can couples bring their own drinks to Tredudwell Manor?
Yes. Tredudwell’s wine allowance and drinks policy means couples can bring certain drinks for the wedding breakfast with no corkage fees. Jack and Rachel brought a guest ale from Jack’s favourite brewery, Firebrand, which the Tredudwell team received in advance on their behalf. You can find the full details on our drinks page.
How flexible is Tredudwell Manor with the wedding day timeline?
Very. When Jack and Rachel’s weather forecast cleared unexpectedly during their church service, they messaged Hayley to abandon the wet weather plan and adjust the timings on the day. The team handled it without any stress reaching the couple. Flexibility is one of the things couples mention most often when they tell us about their experience at Tredudwell.
Can I personalise the styling at Tredudwell Manor myself?

Absolutely. The Pavilion barn is a flexible, beautiful blank canvas that couples can make entirely their own. Rachel designed and created all the styling for her wedding herself, from the floor plan and menus to door hangers, personalised bar runners, and a puppy adoption corner for the children. The Tredudwell team are supportive of personal touches and happy to help make ideas work.
