From a medieval church ceremony setting, to a romantic manor house and oak built barn – the fusion of these elements created something very special. Here in our real wedding story, we share with you how Gabby & Harvey’s Easter wedding in Cornwall plans came to life and Gabby shares some of her favourite parts of the day!

Why did you choose to get married at our Cornwall wedding venue, Tredudwell?
Gabby: “We wanted to find somewhere which gave us the flexibility of a marquee wedding but without all the hassle that putting up a marquee has. We knew we wanted an Easter wedding in Cornwall and the weather isn’t always kind so being at Tredudwell took away the stress of that. When we visited, we thought that house, marquee and grounds suited us perfectly; it was classic, country and had just the right amount of ‘grandness’ without looking too formal. We loved that we could choose every element of our day and weren’t restricted on suppliers or guest numbers.”

What kind of ceremony did you choose and why?
Gabby: “We had a church ceremony at St Wyllow because we love the traditions that come with a church wedding. Rev Richard was amazing and made us feel so welcome!”

How did you make the decisions that come with planning a wedding?
Gabby: “A lot of looking at Pinterest! Taking advice from suppliers, especially our selected caterer Richard McGeown and the team at Tredudwell.”

How did you find the planning process with Tredudwell team?
Gabby: “Amazing! We were able to visit several times. I could contact Hayley on WhatsApp for any niggling questions and on the actual weekend we were looked after really well.”
Thank you Gabby for your kind words. Team Tredudwell enjoyed working with you to ensure a seamless plan for your wedding day.

What did you eat and drink at your Easter wedding in Cornwall?
Gabby: “We ate roast lamb and salmon sharing boards, and drank a mixture of local wine (Camel Valley, Polgoon) and paired wine for our food.”
Gabby & Harvey selected our trusted supplier The Cornish Wine Company to pair the perfect wine to their menu. They deliver straight to our Cornwall wedding venue in advance of wedding day to ensure the logistics are simple!

Did you enjoy having the freedom to personalise your catering options?
Gabby: “Absolutely!”
Our trusted caterers offer couples the opportunity to select a menu of their choice. Tastings during the planning stages mean you have chance to perfect your menu, ensuring your guests will be offered the most indulgent and memorable gastro food experience on wedding day.
Gabby & Harvey’s selected Chef, Richard McGeown, is located in the nearby picturesque fishing village of Polperro and his restaurant is exclusively yours for tastings. This personalised experience adds an extra touch of magic and reassurance to the wedding planning process.
The main dining event for this Easter wedding in Cornwall was a memorable occasion, with Chef Richard McGeown and his team making sure the food was served to perfection and on time. Produce sourced from the wedding couples family farm was served on the menu to create a true farm to fork sustainable food experience and guests thoroughly indulged in an incredible feast!

Here, the set up of the tables and styling really came into play, as guests could easily chat to each other during dining.

What kind of personal touches did you love adding to your Easter wedding in Cornwall at Tredudwell?
Gabby: “We were able to decorate the venue how we liked. We loved that we could plan our own timings, catering choices, bar menu and table plan.”

We absolutely loved seeing the venue transformed into your very own ‘Love Story’. In offering early access to the venue from 8am the day before the wedding, this ensured plenty of time for Gabby & Harvey to add their own personal touches and styling to our barn wedding venue. Set up day was fun filled and relaxed with friends & family! We loved everything about Gabby & Harvey’s set up; the layout of the tables incorporated a mixture of round linen tables and a t-section of rustic trestle tables – this created a beautiful and bespoke aesthetic, utilising the interior space of the barn perfectly for a large wedding of 150 guests.
Beautiful Real flowers from Anna’s Flower Barn dressed the tables and the scent was simply amazing! It’s a very special thing to see spring colours in the barn after a long winter! In choosing Anna for wedding flowers and bouquets, Gabby also added a little more to the family history – for Anna was also the florist for Gabby’s Mum on her wedding day!

Anna said: “When Gabby contacted me to ask if I was free to do her wedding flowers, I was so pleased I could help , we instantly had a great connection as 34 years ago I did the wedding flowers for her parents.
Gabby and her Mum Jane came for a chat in the barn to discuss her beautiful spring wedding at Tredudwell Manor, Gabby chose blush pink David Austin roses for her bridal bouquet,Country milk churns to stand outside the church at St Wyllow and bottles to line the tables at Tredudwell Manor filled with pale pink Tulips, it looked stunning.
I feel very lucky to be a recommended supplier and have so many of my couples marry at Tredudwell each one very special and unique to me , it really is one of my top favourite venues in Cornwall.”

Gabby & Harvey wanted to offer their guests complimentary drinks throughout wedding day & during evening celebrations and so, planning meetings with us in advance of wedding day helped to create a bespoke bar menu and guarantee Team Tredudwell served their favourite drinks from our bar.
What was your favourite part of your Easter wedding in Cornwall?
Gabby: “That’s tricky… probably the drinks reception or watching everyone enjoy the food.”

We couldn’t agree more! A true feast of food & drinks was enjoyed by all. Guests gathered on the terrace steps as the wedding car retuned from church and they saluted the arrival of Gabby & Harvey with a huge cheer. Reception drinks flowed along with canapés and the happy couple shared a relaxed afternoon with their friends & family. A little special mention to Ginny! The most adorable & loved dog of Gabby & Harvey! Ginny never left the couples side, even playing a part in the church ceremony. She stole everyone’s hearts including ours and Nick Walker, the wedding photographer, too!

With a relaxed vibe throughout dining, guests continued the celebrations into the evening with the arrival of evening guests and in total, 200 guests joined Gabby & Harvey on the dance floor!

What is one piece of advice you would share with newly engaged couples who are about to embark on their planning journey at Tredudwell?

Thank you to Gabby & Harvey for choosing and trusting Tredudwell and for the lovely Google review!
We loved everything about Tredudwell as soon as we walked in and met Hayley on our first visit. We got married in March at a local church and knowing we had a venue that would be beautiful regardless of the weather was perfect. In the end we did have some sunshine and were able to use the grounds for photos and our drinks reception. We were made to feel totally relaxed the whole weekend and had full autonomy over what we wanted from drinks, caterer, music and layout. Thank you Hayley and team Tredudwell for everything! X

What a day! What a night! An Easter wedding in Cornwall to be remembered by all and the perfect way to step into spring! If you’d like to check our availability for your Cornwall wedding, please get in touch.
