With this can come a lot of overwhelm! The wedding styling world is vast and wide, where couples could easily get lost, sometimes with pleasure, but other times? Less so.
When planning a wedding in Cornwall, you’re faced with so many choices to make. How do you keep it sensible and within budget but at the same time beautiful? And if you want to be sustainable too? The task can feel impossible (especially when you’ve been spending a lot of time on Pinterest and keep dreaming of that special ‘look’ for your big day).

Sustainable Wedding Tip 1 – What advice would you give to couples when styling a wedding ceremony?
(Julie from With a Flourish): “Plan in advance, make it personal to you as a couple rather than going for the latest trends. Think about which items you can hire before buying new. Not only will this be better for the environment by creating less waste but it will save you worrying about selling-on or storing items after your wedding.”
Sustainable Wedding Tip 2 – Is it wise to consider the weather and how to style your wedding with a wow factor for all types of weather?
(Julie from With a Flourish): “We live in the most stunning part of England but sadly we have to adapt to our changing weather. Always aim for the best but be realistic. At Flourish our stunning faux silk flowers and arches are highly resilient but sometimes our guests might not be. So be prepared for all weathers.”
Sustainable Wedding Tip 3 – What are your top practical tips when styling wedding ceremonies?
(Julie from With a Flourish): “Never forget the view!! Especially at Tredudwell Manor. No one wants a day with such grand displays that you or your guest can’t see what’s happening. A common mistake is a wedding table with beautiful big arrangements that the wedding party or guest then can’t see around. Choose statement pieces rather then big over done fussy displays.”
Sustainable Wedding Tip 4 – Styling your Wedding Tables
At Tredudwell, we have made the choice not to hire an inhouse chef so as to give our couples more flexibility. Our couples can choose from our recommended list of caterers and with them you’ll have the classic tableware and glassware. But how to wow your wedding guests truly?
Why not hire in some extraordinary table items instead and make the tables magnificent displays? You won’t need to buy accessories to dress the tables. You can save some budget and reduce your carbon footprint because you are hiring these gorgeous items instead of having to buy brand new.

Sustainable Wedding Tip 5 – Which 3 tips do you feel could add that extra special wow factor to a wedding table set up?
(Hazel from Keeping it Vintage): “Firstly, I recommend coloured, textured runners add depth and contrast to your table settings. The fabric type helps create the style and finish you are looking to create, soft hand dyed bamboo silk, rich crushed velvets, rustic soft cheesecloth.
Secondly, charger plates really lift the table and can be a great way to introduce light, metallics or a more rustic look to the setting. You can choose something elegant like the silver beaded or gold ornate charger plates, or perhaps the marble effect or rattan to add another dimension.
Lastly, different heights and colours within your table décor such as hiring beautiful, colourful glassware and candlelight really add a sense of occasion and help create a soft, relaxed dining experience.
Sustainable Wedding Tip 6 – Does choosing a colour scheme help create a bigger wow factor at your wedding? If so, what colours will be making a statement in 2023 and 2024?
(Hazel from Keeping it Vintage): “2023 – Orange, gold and neutral or dusty blue & golden/ sunflower tones.
In 2024 it will be soft vintage green, sea glass blue and gold, emerald green and gold.”

(Hazel from Keeping it Vintage): “Hiring is a great way to have the things you love at your wedding day in a more sustainable way. Our items are often vintage, retro and handmade and as hire items can be refreshed and re-used.
Couples can enjoy beautiful ceremony arches, lanterns and decor to create their aisle. When it comes to the welcome drink we have a stunning selection of glassware to choose from, from colourful boho to elegant gold rimmed Champagne glasses.
If the weather is on form, guests can enjoy our vintage games on the lawn and chilled drinks from our vintage bath tubs. You can also have welcome signs, directional signage and table plans to help inform your guests on the day.”
Sustainable Wedding Tip 8 – You don’t need to DIY, you can hire stylists from Keeping It Vintage
(Hazel from Keeping it Vintage): “When it comes to decorating your reception, you can choose your own style or our team of experienced stylists can help you conceptualise your day; By adding colourful place settings, runners & candlesticks or perhaps going for a relaxed boho feel with natural materials such as wood, and rustic napkins you can create the wedding style to suit you and your guests. We can also help with cake tables, stands, easels, LOVE lights and props for the perfect insta-worthy backdrop.
During the evening you can add another experience outdoors by choosing to book firepits, double deckchairs, warm blankets and vintage crates for seating and drinks tables. These make the perfect setting for group catchups, toasting marshmallows and watching the sunset.”
