Why we loved this Tredudwell wedding: Hannah and Josh’s day showcases Tredudwell Manor’s versatility as a Cornwall wedding venue, seamlessly moving between indoor and outdoor spaces as the weather shifted, proving that a May wedding can be absolutely perfect with the right venue support.

This is the story of a wedding that proves the weather doesn’t define the day – the people and the atmosphere do.
When Hannah and Josh chose Tredudwell Manor for their wedding, it was an easy decision they said. As a Cornish couple, they wanted somewhere close to home with beautiful views and a team they could truly trust. What they found was a Cornwall wedding venue that would help them navigate unpredictable weather with grace and zero stress.
Setting up the day before
The celebrations began the day before the wedding, with Hannah and Josh making the most of their early access to our venue. Time spent with family adding personal touches to the tables from hand-painted messages on bottles to a beautiful painting of Tredudwell Manor on the welcome table created a calm and happy start to their wedding weekend.

The styling was soft and floral, with dusky pink and cream roses throughout. Every detail reflected the couple perfectly – relaxed and full of personality.

With the forecast looking a little uncertain, Tredudwell’s flexibility kicked in from the start. Our team ran through a fun ceremony rehearsal covering both the outdoor Roman Temples and the indoor barn option, alongside sound checks to make sure everything would run smoothly whichever way the day unfolded.
Personal touches were incredibly important to Hannah, and our team being absolute yes people were keen to support and accommodate their plans within all safety guidelines to make it come to life.

Embracing the barn as their ceremony space
The morning arrived with a light Cornish drizzle in the air, and the decision was made to host the ceremony indoors in the barn. Nevertheless, Hannah and Josh felt completely relaxed with the team on hand.

The natural light pouring into our Cornwall wedding barn, combined with stunning views across the grounds, created a ceremony space that felt perfect. More importantly, it meant guests could be warm, dry, and comfortable – obviously a priority for Hannah and Josh!

Upstairs in the wedding suite, the atmosphere was exactly as Hannah had imagined with bubbly and lots of laughter. Meanwhile, photographer Grant Lampard captured some beautiful moments of Hannah getting ready in the manor house.

Over with Josh and the groomsmen, the morning was just as joyful, complete with the all-important (and slightly competitive) task of mastering the art of pinning buttonholes.

The perfect barn wedding ceremony in Cornwall
As the ceremony approached, Josh was full of nervous butterflies. He couldn’t wait to see Hannah. Behind the scenes, hidden from view by the retractable wall, Hannah and her bridal party shared those final pre-ceremony giggles. These are the moments that are so special, and we’re always honoured to be part of them (including, of course, ensuring the final dress fluff is perfect before walking down the aisle).
When it came time for the ceremony, all the guests were incredibly grateful for the indoor setting. No wind, no rain, no last-minute dashes for cover. Just a warm, beautiful barn wedding ceremony in Cornwall led by celebrant Mel Brewerton.

Hannah looked stunning in her gown from Wed2be, and Josh was dapper in his white tux with black bow tie from Moss Bros. The bridesmaids in dusky pink added the perfect touch of soft colour to the barn ceremony space.

Confetti & drinks when the weather turned brighter
In true Cornish style, the weather shifted just in time.
Spotting a perfect window of opportunity, everyone was guided outside straight after the ceremony for Hannah’s dream confetti moment on the steps. A quick dash, a big cheer, and a shower of petals. It couldn’t have been more perfect.

Guests then enjoyed drinks and canapés outdoors, soaking up the fresh air, whilst the barn remained open as a cosy backup for whenever the showers returned. This is the beauty of choosing a Cornwall wedding venue like ours with both indoor and outdoor options: the day flows naturally, whatever the weather does.

Time to dine with a grand entrance & local Cornish flavours

As the guests took their seats, anticipation built for Hannah and Josh’s grand entrance. And it did not disappoint.

Announced to a fun, upbeat tune, the newlyweds danced their way into the room as guests waved napkins and cheered them on. It set the tone perfectly for an evening of laughter and incredible food.
The menu, created by Tredudwell’s in-house chef Glynn Wellington, celebrated the best of local Cornish produce:
- Mylor crab tartlets
- Charcuterie boards
- Slow-cooked lamb
- Cornish cod
- Desserts that were almost too good to share

Hilarious and touching speeches followed but a special mention must also go to magician Tom Rose, who entertained guests throughout the reception with close-up magic that everyone loved.

Golden hour in the grounds
As the afternoon unfolded, the weather brightened once again, giving Grant Lampard the chance to capture some beautiful couple portraits around the grounds. The soft afternoon light and the lush greenery made for stunning images that perfectly captured the joy of the day.

First dance, garden games & party time

Hannah and Josh’s first dance was a romantic, choreographed moment, surrounded by family and friends. It was intimate and joyful, the perfect transition into evening celebrations.

With the weather still slightly unpredictable, the party embraced creativity and brought the outdoors inside. Garden games were moved into the barn, and they were just as much fun. The limbo, in particular (complete with a pole kindly brought in by our team), was a huge hit and became one of the most talked-about moments of the night.

After the first dance, Hannah made a quick outfit change into a gorgeous 60s-style short dress paired with dancing shoes, ready for a night on the dancefloor.

As night fell, the celebrations continued with a silent disco by Your Perfect Night Disco and a Cornish pasty supper from local suppliers. The perfect fuel for dancing well into the night.
Grant also took the couple outside for some stunning night-time shots in the grounds, capturing them against the backdrop of Tredudwell Manor with atmospheric lighting that added a little extra magic to the day.
