How To Plan A Wedding In Six Months

Here at our Cornwall wedding venue Tredudwell, we are contacted by many wonderful couples who are planning their wedding in 1 year or even 2 years’ time. But some couples want to get married much quicker than that, and why not? We recently chatted to one of our couples, Jeddi and Adam, who planned their wedding in just 6 months so we thought it would make a great blog on how to plan a wedding in six months.
Let’s firstly congratulate the happy couple on their recent wedding at our Cornwall wedding venue Tredudwell Manor. Jeddi and Adam booked their wedding for up to 50 guests in January and got married at Tredudwell Manor in June.
If you’re thinking about how to plan a wedding in six months, you’re right, it’s no small feat, and they did an amazing job. Here we share a Q&A we did with them to share their tips and experiences with others who might be embarking on a short planning journey:

Is choosing the right wedding Cornwall wedding venue essential to having the confidence to plan a wedding in six months?
Absolutely! The moment we met Hayley and the team we knew we would be in good hands. Having the confidence that they would be able to support us as we planned was absolutely essential. The Cornwall wedding venue Tredudwell itself is also so beautiful, we knew that the natural beauty of the countryside would speak for itself and take off a lot of the pressure of the decorating.

Why did you choose our Cornwall wedding venue Tredudwell?
It really was love at first sight, despite our first look round being on a wet and windy January day! We adore that area of Cornwall and we got engaged on the cliffs at Lantic Bay, so when Hayley told us there was a date available in June it felt like fate. Plus the welcome we received from Hayley and the team, as well as their patience as we waited to book the registrar really solidified that it was the right decision.

Did you find our recommended Cornwall wedding suppliers list a helpful tool? Which of our recommended suppliers did you choose for your wedding day?
It really was invaluable and we used a lot of the suppliers for our day including catering, flowers and photography. Wellington catering did a fabulous job of providing a completely gluten free menu for Jeddi’s coeliac family. It was all delicious! Maggie from Maggie’s flowers was amazing to work with and our flowers are still being talked about by our friends. We booked Grant Lampard for photography and again he was fantastic. He was fabulous at helping us all feel at ease and the shots of us on the beach at Lantic Bay are glorious!

You planned a wedding for up to 50 guests, what are your 3 top tips for couples considering a late booking wedding date?
Organisation really is key, as soon as we confirmed our date we booked our band, photographer and catering. We knew that they were vital for a good day so wanted them confirmed as soon as possible.
Research who it is you’re working with! Having the right people around you really helps. We absolutely trusted all of our suppliers and it really took the pressure off.
Be willing to compromise. We knew that there was a chance of conflicting dates when booking our suppliers as we were booking very late! So we made sure we had options and tried not to have our heart too set in any one direction. We were very lucky in that we didn’t have to compromise too much, but extensive research meant we had two or three backups before anyone confirmed just in case.

Your wedding day was a wonderful celebration! What are your top 3 moments?
Top would have to be the wedding ceremony, we were so lucky with the weather and were able to get married in the outdoor temple. It was so beautiful and a truly magical experience!
The cliff top photos had to be another highlight for us, being so close to the sea really allows for some phenomenal shots with the beautiful Cornish coastline as a backdrop.

Being able to celebrate with our friends and family in such a beautiful location. It truly is a gorgeous place to be and having the use of the whole site the day before our wedding allowed us to create such a unique atmosphere for our guests.

The entire day was amazing and the Tredudwell team did so much to ensure that it went seamlessly. From an amazing breakfast for our guests in the Manor House to choreographing the bride’s entrance, it was all perfect. There was very little stress other than a few nerves before walking down the aisle!

A massive thanks to Jeddi & Adam for sharing so much valuable advice. We wish them all the love and happiness as they embark on this new chapter together!
