Here at Tredudwell Manor, we’ve seen just how magical a barn wedding ceremony can be. The soft timber beams, the warm glow of fairy lights, the mix of rustic charm surrounded by nature, it’s no wonder more and more couples are choosing this setting for their Cornwall wedding vows.

Whether you’re dreaming of a laid-back celebration or a more formal affair with all the trimmings, here’s how to plan the perfect barn wedding ceremony, with tips, inspiration and a peek into what makes our Cornwall wedding venue so special.

1. Choose a barn with flexibility and character

Not all barns are created equal. Our purpose-built barn was designed with weddings in mind offering the perfect blend of rustic textures and modern comforts. You’ll find soaring ceilings, natural stone walls, and large windows that fill the space with Cornish light.

We’re licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 220 guests, but the barn never feels too big or too small – we simply adapt the space to your celebration, with seating layouts and styling to suit you and your guests.

2. Let the setting shape your styling

One of the joys of a barn wedding ceremony is that the backdrop does so much of the talking. At Tredudwell, many of our couples keep things simple draping soft fabric from the beams, adding wild meadow-style florals, and letting the natural textures shine.

Of course, if you’re dreaming of flower arches, statement style, or dramatic seasonal blooms, our space can hold it all. You can make it completely your own!

3. Consider the season and lighting

A barn wedding ceremony works beautifully year-round. In spring and summer, our French doors open out onto the gardens, blurring the line between inside and out. In autunm, the barn becomes a cosy haven, glowing with candles and twinkling lights.

Chat with your photographer about the light and layout – it’s something we always encourage, to help you get those ceremony shots you’ll treasure forever.

4. Make your barn wedding ceremony personal

This is your ceremony, your story. We see couples including everything from live acoustic music, handwritten vows to meaningful readings and dog ring bearers.

You can work with our friendly team to time everything to perfection, and our private get-ready spaces in the Manor House mean you can start the day relaxed, surrounded by your favourite people (and a glass of fizz or two).

5. Don’t forget the transition

After your barn wedding ceremony, your guests can step straight out into our gardens for drinks and confetti. It’s such a lovely flow with no waiting around, no travel needed. The same space transforms into your reception setting later on, with seamless support from our experienced team behind the scenes.
