5 Magical Ideas for Your Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Tredudwell Manor

There is something quietly breathtaking about an outdoor wedding ceremony at Tredudwell Manor. You’re wrapped in the soft hush of the gardens, with the manor house standing proudly behind you and the Cornish landscape stretching out around you. The moment you step outside, you feel it – that sense of space, completely surrounded by nature.

Whether you imagine saying your vows beneath the spring cherry blossom, standing on the garden steps with the house framing the scene, or gathering loved ones beside the romantic Roman temples, every spot here feels like it was made for love stories. The light, the grounds… it’s all part of what makes outdoor ceremonies at Tredudwell so special.

We’re delighted to now offer couples a selection of new ceremony locations within our spectacular formal gardens, each one full of its own charm and atmosphere. And with the freedom to choose your perfect spot, together with a dedicated team ensuring your day unfolds calmly and beautifully, your outdoor ceremony becomes one of the most magical parts of the whole celebration.

Here are five heartfelt ideas inspired by the couples who have already married outdoors here at Tredudwell where you can have magical love-filled moments of your own.

1. Choose your perfect ceremony spot

Guest numbers and seasonality often help couples decide where to hold their outdoor ceremony. Our newly licensed garden steps are perfect for smaller, intimate gatherings, while the romantic garden temples work beautifully for up to 100 guests.

In spring, nothing compares to marrying beneath the blossoming trees, while autumn brings softer light and beautiful golden tones across the grounds. And for couples planning an intimate winter wedding, the manor’s drawing room offers warmth, comfort, and character without losing any of the atmosphere.

2. Enjoy a Friday set-up and rehearsal

At Tredudwell, we believe a calm wedding starts with time to breathe. Couples have the whole Friday to set up, decorate, and hold their ceremony rehearsal which is something that’s unique to us here in Cornwall.

Rehearsals usually take place on the afternoon before the wedding and are a lovely chance to finalise every detail with our coordination team. Once playlists, timings, and roles are set, then everyone can relax and enjoy a peaceful pre-wedding evening. Some even start their weekend with a sea swim as the coast is only ten minutes away!

3. A calm wedding morning guaranteed

Our couples always tell us how calm they feel on the morning of their wedding, and that’s no accident. From breakfast through to buttoning and steaming, our friendly, experienced team is there to help.

We make the final call on weather just 30-60 minutes before the ceremony, ensuring every couple has the very best chance of their dream outdoor wedding ceremony. It’s this flexibility and care that makes Tredudwell feel so reassuring even when Cornwall’s skies are unpredictable.

Natalie and Ryan had their hearts set on an outdoor ceremony and Cornwall kept them on their toes! What began as sunshine soon turned to heavy downpours just before the ceremony was due to start. But Hayley and the team were ready, moving everything inside in minutes. Then… the skies cleared again! Just in time for Natalie and Ryan to have their dream ceremony outside in the beautiful gardens of Tredudwell Manor.

“We had a reading from Ryan’s cousin and a gorgeous moment where Ryan’s dad, godfather and friends sang Little Eyes by Fisherman’s Friends while we signed the register. It made the whole thing feel so personal and Cornish.” Natalie & Ryan – read more about their outdoor wedding ceremony here.

4. Capture the magic of nature

Many couples say their outdoor wedding ceremony was the most magical and memorable part of their day. There’s something about standing together, surrounded by the gardens and the gentle sounds of nature, that makes the moment feel deeply personal.

The soft light, the open air, the scent of the flowers where every detail adds to that sense of romance. Our couples often describe it as feeling like the landscape itself becomes part of their love story.

“We chose to get married outside, and we are so pleased we did because it allowed for such beautiful photos. Our photographs came out beautifully due to the amazing grounds and warmth in the venue. Would recommend to anyone who is engaged!” – check out Amy & Ollie’s outdoor wedding here.

5. Celebrate in your own way

The beauty of Tredudwell is that no two outdoor wedding ceremonies are ever the same. Some couples exchange vows with just a handful of guests on the garden steps, while others fill the lawn with laughter and music before gathering for pizza and pasties later in the evening.

Because the house, the barn and the gardens all flow seamlessly together, your day unfolds naturally.

For Charlie and Jodie, finding an intimate, peaceful, and beautiful Cornwall wedding venue was essential. The moment they saw Tredudwell, they knew we were the one. “Tredudwell is a hidden gem,” they told us. “It gave us a romantic and peaceful location for our special day.” You can see more of their stunning outdoor wedding here.
