Why Natalie and Ryan chose Tredudwell Manor

Natalie and Ryan kindly shared why they fell for our Cornwall wedding venue:

“We had viewed a lot of wedding venues in Cornwall and beyond, and nothing quite hit the spot. As soon as we came to Tredudwell, we looked at each other and just knew. We loved the attention to detail, how flexible everything felt, and the reassurance of great communication from the team. The setting is stunning, the house made for gorgeous photos, and it was so special to have some of our guests staying with us onsite.”

A Cornish Outdoor Wedding Ceremony (With a Weather Plot Twist)

The couple had their hearts set on an outdoor ceremony and Cornwall kept them on their toes! What began as sunshine soon turned to heavy downpours just before the ceremony was due to start. But Hayley and the team were ready, moving everything inside in minutes. Then… the skies cleared again! Just in time for Natalie and Ryan to have their dream ceremony outside in the beautiful gardens of Tredudwell Manor.

“We had a reading from Ryan’s cousin and a gorgeous moment where Ryan’s dad, godfather and friends sang Little Eyes by Fisherman’s Friends while we signed the register. It made the whole thing feel so personal and Cornish.”

A Relaxed, Joy-Filled Day With All the Right People

Natalie spent the night before the wedding at Tredudwell with her bridal party, while Ryan was nearby with his groomsmen. They enjoyed a pre-wedding dinner with 30 of their guests at the Jubilee Inn in Pelynt, complete with a shanty band in the garden. And on the big day itself? There was no strict schedule, just a laid-back celebration with time to soak it all in. Natalie said “…one of the most important things was the atmosphere – that it was fun and relaxed.”

A Wedding Feast of Pizza, Pasties and Pure Joy

Natalie and Ryan chose Kernowforno for their wedding catering and it was chef’s kiss perfection.

Canapés were served early in the afternoon, followed by generous sharing boards, seasonal salads, and woodfired pizzas for the main meal. In the evening, Barnecutts pasties made a very Cornish (and very delicious) appearance.

“Just in case anyone is reading this and thinking: is it alright to have pizzas for a wedding? We are both foodies and the answer is a euphoric yes.”

The couple brought in their own drinks (Rattler cider, Prosecco, and wine from Majestic in Plymouth), taking full advantage of Tredudwell’s no-corkage policy.

Thoughtful Touches and Family Magic

There were beautiful handmade touches all over the place, a wedding post box and corn hole game crafted by Ryan’s parents, borrowed décor from recently-married friends, and a photo of their beloved cat proudly displayed on the cake table.

“Ryan’s dad parked his 1960s Ford Capri Consul around the front of the manor house which made for a great prop for photos… even if one of two of Nat’s mates saw an opportunity to pretend to be Bond Girls.”

Their Favourite Moments of the Day

“Hard to pick a single thing. But one of the most important things was the atmosphere – that it was fun and relaxed. The suppliers – particularly Andy Quick on guitar for the afternoon, and New Heroes entertaining us in the evening – really helped with this. There was nobody storming about with a clipboard ordering us here and there, everything just subtly fell into place. And Nick Bailey’s photographs and the video from Byron Jackson are proof that everyone had a great time.”

Advice for Future Tredudwell Couples

“Have a few ideas, don’t leave it all to Hayley. Prepare to be open-minded. But work out the things that are most important to you. For us it was we wanted great food (tick), a fun and relaxed atmosphere (tick), and great pics and videos to show for it (tick).”
