Today on our blog, we are happy to celebrate the first anniversary of one of our Tredudwell couples Claudia & Jake, who had their wedding here in our beautiful outdoor pavilion! As you can see, they had the best day! We asked them lots of useful questions to inspire you when planning your own wedding in Cornwall here at Tredudwell.

Let’s kick off with the incredible video by Charmain Cara:
Why did you choose to get married at Tredudwell Manor?
“It was our favourite venue out of all of our viewings. We had our hearts set on getting married outside, and Tredudwell gave the perfect opportunity for this – as well as a backup indoor venue in case the weather wasn’t on our side! It was just perfect for us and how we visioned our wedding day to be.”

What kind of wedding ceremony did you choose and why?
“We had an outdoor ceremony and got married at Tredudwell, rather than a church. We both loved the idea of getting married outside and the outdoor temple at Tredudwell made us want an outdoor ceremony even more!”

How did you make all your wedding planning decisions?
“Luckily, and to our surprise, we agreed on most things when it came to planning our wedding. We shared the planning quite evenly, but we also definitely had our designated roles: Jake was in charge of spreadsheets and keeping track of finances, whereas I handled the “pretty” side of things – which is what I think we both preferred!”

How did you find planning a wedding with the Tredudwell team?
“AMAZING!! The staff were so friendly, welcoming, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble.”

What did you eat and drink at your outdoor spring wedding in Cornwall?
“We had canapés, and a sit down 3 course meal for our wedding breakfast by the Good Food Company, and then pasties from a local supplier Sophie Boxall and a dessert table in the evening. For drinks, we had A LOT of bubbles, washed down with one too many shots!”

Did you enjoy having the freedom to personalise your catering options?
“100%. Your wedding day is about you as a couple, so I think it’s important you have the final say in the vendors and the freedom to choose who you want.”

What kind of personal touches did you love adding to your wedding at Tredudwell?
“We handmade all of our buttonholes, Claudia’s gran supplied the confetti which she made from using dried flower petals from her garden, as well as bringing her homemade crab apple vodka and sloe gin which we used as our wedding favours. Jake’s mum made our cake. We loved having the freedom to decorate the venue how we wanted to, it was a blank canvas for us to do as we wished, and we decorated using LOTS of flowers – our loved ones really came together to help us create our dream day. The amount of love that went into our wedding from family and friends will stay with us forever, we are so thankful to every single person who was involved for all of their efforts.”

What was your favourite part of the day?
“All of it, the whole day was perfect.”

What is one piece of advice you would share with newly engaged couples who are about to embark on their planning journey at Tredudwell?
“Embrace all of it and enjoy the whole wedding planning journey, even the stressful parts. It’s true what people say, it goes by in a flash, so have fun!”

Thank you for leaving this marvellous Google review too:
“We got married at Tredudwell in April 2023 and cannot recommend them enough. From going to visit for the first time, to our wedding day, and everything in the middle, Tredudwell were an absolute DREAM! The venue is beyond stunning and everyone who works there (Valerie, Justin, Hayley and Becky to name a few) were so welcoming and easy to talk to – nothing felt like too much trouble and everyone was so willing to go above and beyond to help bring our wedding visions to life! They definitely helped us to feel at ease on our wedding day. Tredudwell really was the venue I dreamt of as a little girl, it’s perfect. Myself and my husband would go back just to visit in a heartbeat. We cannot thank Tredudwell and everyone at this beautiful venue enough for helping to make our dream wedding a reality – if you’re thinking of taking a look at this venue, do it!”
