Why this wedding stands out: A completely tailored celebration showcasing how Tredudwell Manor supports creative, non-traditional weddings — from fully vegan menus to festival-inspired decor.

When Sam and Ross got married at Tredudwell Manor, they created an outdoor festival wedding in Cornwall that was completely ‘them’. With just 8 months to plan, a fully vegan wedding menu that impressed even non-vegan guests, metres of handmade ribbon bunting, and a vinyl record seating chart designed from their favourite album covers, this was a vibrant celebration full of love and personality and we loved every minute.
From the moment they arrived at Tredudwell for their first viewing, they knew it was the one. “The grounds are beautiful, the views are stunning, and the reception barn gave us the perfect blank canvas to bring our vision to life,” Sam explains. “Hayley is one of a kind, she genuinely cares about every wedding at Tredudwell, and we valued her support so much throughout our fairly short planning process.”

An outdoor celebrant-led ceremony with lots of personal touches
Sam and Ross had a legal ceremony a few days before their Tredudwell wedding, then chose an outdoor celebrant-led ceremony on the day with Fiona Solomon, the perfect choice for their outdoor festival wedding in Cornwall. “We met her at a wedding fair and instantly connected with her warmth and kindness,” says Sam. “She really understood us and helped us include meaningful elements like a Scottish quaich ceremony, handfasting, and a reading from The Amber Spyglass.”

The outdoor ceremony at Tredudwell’s beautiful grounds featured a deeply personal touch: a memory table filled with photos of loved ones who are no longer here. “It meant they could still feel part of the day,” Sam shares. “Our rings were placed there beforehand, allowing our guests to hold them, warm them, and fill them with love and good energy before the ceremony.” The rings themselves were designed together by the couple, with Ross’s wedding band featuring the same stones as Sam’s rings, tying them together as a set.

Colourful festival vibes
Sam and Ross both love festivals, and they knew from the start they wanted to weave that energy into their wedding day. “We can be quite indecisive, so settling on one colour felt impossible,” Sam laughs. “In the end, we embraced that and chose a mix of pastels and brights – pinks, lilacs, light blue, yellow, and coral – which created a really joyful, vibrant feel.”
The result was a day bursting with personality and colour:
Handmade ribbon bunting: “It took hours to make but was so worth it. It allowed us to bring in all our colours in a really striking way.”
Vinyl record seating chart: Ross designed the seating plan using edited versions of their favourite album covers, adding guest names to each one. Matching vinyl records were used for table names.

“Sunset Sessions”: Festival-inspired signage and details throughout

The Gordon Arms: A handmade outdoor bar serving snacks, named as a nod to Ross’s 30th birthday in lockdown when Sam recreated a pub in their garden

A cosy phone booth and snug: Sam collected furniture to create intimate spaces for guests to relax
Fontaines D.C. “Favourite” banner: Now hanging in their home as a lasting memento
Live band: Radio Avenue: “They were an incredible band and everyone loved them!”
Live watercolour artist: Georgia Brent Artist painted stunning portraits of guests throughout the day
Face painting: Toni from TrueTone Face Art “Incredibly talented and everyone loved their face painting!”

Poems by Sam’s students: poems written by Sam’s Year 9 students were displayed as part of the decor.
Faux floral arrangements by Emily Rose Events Hire: “We opted for faux flowers after seeing Emma’s displays and genuinely couldn’t believe they weren’t real! It meant everything stayed perfect all day, and we now have my bouquet to keep forever, still looking as beautiful as it did in August.”

“Adding the personal touches was one of our favourite parts of planning,” Sam says. “Every detail felt personal, and seeing it all come together was incredibly special.”

The couple chose colourful & unique outfits to wear
Sam’s wedding looks:
Her ceremony and reception dress from Kiva and Zen in Truro, along with a pearl top and crochet top. “The team were incredible, somehow understanding exactly what I wanted before I even knew myself. I would never have found a dress like it without their guidance.”
Her evening outfit was a mini dress from Rosie Etienne. “I knew I’d struggle to dance in a gown, so a mini dress felt like the perfect choice.”
Ross wore a traditional kilt from MacGregor and MacDuff

A fully vegan wedding in Cornwall that surprised all their guests
Creating a fully vegan wedding in Cornwall was incredibly important to Sam and Ross, and they wanted their vegan wedding menu to impress even the most dedicated meat-eaters. Their caterers, White Radish, absolutely delivered.
“We wanted a fully vegan menu that would impress even non-vegan guests, and they absolutely delivered,” Sam says. “Charlie and Amy brought our vision to life – guests are still talking about the seitan katsu and vegan tiramisu!”
The vegan wedding menu consisted of:
Cocktail hour: Bar snacks set up pic-n-mix style, available for grazing throughout the day
Wedding breakfast: A show-stopping vegan feast by White Radish, featuring the now-legendary seitan katsu
Dessert: Vegan tiramisu that guests couldn’t believe was dairy-free
Evening food: Vegan pasties from Barnecutts and sausage rolls from Cornish Bakery both local Cornwall suppliers
“Being able to tailor everything made such a difference,” Sam reflects. “Having the freedom to personalise our catering options was so important to us, especially for a vegan wedding in Cornwall where we wanted to showcase how incredible plant-based food can be.”

Photography & Videography: Captured with Care
The brilliant images and video by I Do Films really capture the energy and the sheer joy of the day. “They were absolutely amazing, we couldn’t have asked for a lovelier team to capture our day,” Sam says. “Nothing was too much trouble for them, which we were incredibly grateful for.”

Planning a Wedding in 8 Months
With only 8 months to plan, Sam and Ross didn’t have the luxury of overthinking. “It actually worked perfectly for us, as we’re both quite indecisive,” Sam admits. “Having time pressure helped us make decisions quickly.”
They also decided early on to do everything their way. “We’re not particularly traditional, so we focused on creating a day that felt completely true to us. We’re so glad we did this, the day just felt super relaxed and calm, which is what we hoped for.”
The Tredudwell team supported them every step of the way. “Truly fantastic. Every member of the team was kind, thoughtful, and nothing was ever too much trouble. From Hayley’s guidance, to Becky’s delicious breakfast, to the brilliant bar staff who even made our Southampton guests ‘Jesticles’! we felt so supported throughout.”
Sam also highlights how helpful the team was after the wedding: “We were especially grateful the morning after, when they had already packed away so much for us, it was such a relief after a busy few days.”

Favourite Moments & Advice for Newly Engaged Couples
When we asked about their favourite part of the day, Sam and Ross didn’t hesitate: “Having everyone we love together in one place, celebrating with us, is something we’ll never take for granted. The whole day was filled with so much love.”

“If you have an idea, follow it wholeheartedly. Hayley never made us feel that anything was too much or too inconvenient, and in that space, we felt free to create without hesitation. It gave us the confidence to bring our vision to life exactly as we imagined it.”
“Make sure you always lean on people to help you, it can be hard to delegate but you’ll have so many people who want to help you and it will alleviate some of the stress!”

What Sam & Ross Said About Tredudwell Manor

“We got married at Tredudwell Manor on the 2nd of August this year, and it was genuinely the most magical day we could have imagined. The whole experience from start to finish was seamless, and that’s entirely down to the incredible Hayley and the amazing Tredudwell team.
Hayley was an absolute superstar throughout the entire process. From the planning stages to the setup day and the wedding itself, she was calm, collected, and completely on top of everything. On our setup day, after hours of tweaking decorations and making final adjustments, she kindly reminded us to take a break and have a proper sit down, some very well-timed and much-needed advice!
She worked tirelessly with all of our suppliers, made sure every detail was spot on, and never once said no to our slightly wild ideas. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and she made everything feel effortless.
The venue itself is just stunning. The Manor House is full of charm and character, the grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the reception barn is incredible. We loved that we could really put our own stamp on the barn, our ribbon bunting and decor worked perfectly with the barn’s natural beauty, fairy lights, and drapery. It created the most magical atmosphere. We knew we wanted a ‘festival’ feel with lots of personal touches and we were able to achieve everything we could have ever hoped for, and so much more, as the grounds were just so versatile!”
