How do we plan drinks at Tredudwell?
Drinks can be served on the barn terrace or lower lawns for the drinks reception, which usually lasts 90 minutes to two hours. The timing and length depend on your wedding breakfast plans. You can offer a variety of drinks, including bubbly, Pimms, sangria, beer, or cider. We share more about how to plan your wedding drinks for your entire wedding here.
How do we plan food for the drinks reception at Tredudwell?
Imagine…beautifully dressed trays of tempting canapés or perhaps you may prefer each guest to be served individual plates of canapés. Or perhaps a delicious grazing table or a melting cheese pot with freshly baked bread. Your caterer works with you to create exactly what you want. This ensures your wedding day afternoon timeline begins with a wonderful drinks reception for you & your guests! We are honoured to work with several incredible caterers and we will send you the list when you enquire.
What time of day should the drinks reception be?
It really depends on the time of year you’re getting married. Make the most of a mid-summer wedding and enjoy the beautiful outdoors with a midday ceremony. Other times of year would suit a 3 pm ceremony with the drinks immediately following. We are always on hand to help with any questions you may have for all aspects of your wedding day afternoon timeline. Throughout, we have planning meetings with you to chat through your timings and of course, we are always reachable via our email and WhatsApp chats!
Can we organise games and entertainment at Tredudwell?
We can offer anything from giant Jenga or Connect 4 to limbo to golf or bouncy castles! The vast and beautiful grounds of Tredudwell offer an outdoor space to ‘play out’. Guests can enjoy playing in the sunshine or if you need a little shade, games can be set up under the trees. We recommend checking out Out of The Ordinary & also Stargazey which both offer a vast range of super outdoor games options. We have more games suppliers on our handy suppliers list, so please get in touch for further information.
Planning your wedding day afternoon timeline – It’s time for the couple portraits
Don’t worry, your photographer is mindful to not keep you away from your guests for too long! If the weather is good, they guide you to the most perfect spots in the grounds of Tredudwell to capture the magic. From the Ceremony Temples overlooking our beautiful pond, to the stunning lower terrace or inside together on the beautiful Jacobean staircase, the choice is yours.
Further afield, we can take you via the woodland tunnel leading to the Cornish cliff tops. These are right next to our Cornwall wedding venue which is an absolute must if the weather permits. Sometimes though, the dark dramatic skies can make for the most incredible photos! We are also proud to have a newly planted 35-acre wildflower meadow with sea views, where you can have a romantic stroll for your beautiful couple portraits.
