In September we held our first ever Open Day event, and how much fun it was too! Carefully planned by Hazel of Out of the Ordinary Weddings, the success of the day was quite frankly beyond our expectations. Success was, of course, measured by the number of smiles we saw all around the house and grounds!

“What a wonderful day we had”

At Tredudwell, when we plan a wedding or an event, our priority is everyone’s happiness. We really focus on making sure that everyone is well looked after – our wedding suppliers, our attendees! It was important to use that our Open Day was no exception, and this was reflected in the feedback received from Hannah, one of our brides-to-be:

“I just wanted to email and let you know what a wonderful day we had on Sunday, the wedding fair/Open Day was by far the best we have been to and all the suppliers and the samples (particularly the afternoon tea!) were fantastic! It was so well organised, everybody was so friendly and nobody could do enough to help. It was so lovely to come and see the venue again and be free to wander round and have the opportunity to show our families as well. It was also great being able to speak to the registrar – another really nice and really helpful touch.”

We organised a large team to make sure that everyone entering the pavilion doors would be well looked after. We were delighted to see so many of our couples getting married next year visiting us to get some inspiration, ideas and asking all the key questions.

I was also delighted to meet new couples who were interested in looking around Tredudwell, and as a result, we received quite a few new bookings which was very exciting too!

At the Open Day, we made sure that everyone had their workspace in place and felt relaxed and happy as it definitely contributed to the happy ambiance most have described and enjoyed. It was really exciting to see everyone’s talents presented in the most beautiful wedding set up.

Upon entering the venue, the sensational entrance was created by the very talented combo team of Velvet Daisy and Keeping it Vintage designed who presented three most superb table displays. It was a wonderful way to inspire anyone who came through the door!

Keeping our crowds refreshed and relaxed – a steady supply of Prosecco and delicious wine tasting from David at Steevenson Wines, as well as the lovely Cornish Cordials who offered some wonderful tastings of non-alcoholic options for the reception drinks.

A wedding reception is not only about drinks but food too of course! At the Open Day, we wanted to offer the possibility to our couples to discuss some ideas with some of our glorious chefs from White Radish and Richard McGeown at Blank Canvas Catering. We knew that by having these wonderful suppliers there, they would inspire couples to envisage different options for their wedding breakfasts.

The stunning tea party presented in the delightful vintage china by Pippa’s Vintage was perfectly suited in the dining room and the food was simply divine and the White Radish sweet display was so impressive!

Getting ready is definitely one of the most relaxing and enjoyable part of the day for Team Bride and choosing the right hairdresser and make up team will definitely help with making this special time really special. Here in the Tredudwell bridal suite, it’s so spacious and filled with natural light, a delight for our creative team!

Emma from Hair by Emma C has been working with us for quite a while and I cannot recommend her highly enough, the feedback from our brides is always so positive, her enthusiasm and talent are equal to none and we are always so happy to see her arriving at the house.

The ceremony spaces also had their stunning makeover, from the shocking pink and flowery theme of Francesca to the breath-taking blossom cherry trees of unique design by Tina in our outdoor space!

Would you prefer to be accompanied by a piano on your wedding day? We had Roger Miners tickling the ivories as well as Kaj Music playing his acoustic guitar and singing. It really was a success and many couples who came will now be thinking twice about playing their Spotify playlist for their ceremony!

Tredudwell has the most spacious and perfect garden lawns specifically designed for our couple and their guests to enjoy the whole wedding weekend and make the most of their special time with their families and friends with various games and Star Gazey really certainly made the Open Day quite an entertaining field game!

A very special day had by all, thank you so much to all who came, our couples, our suppliers, everyone who worked so hard to make this a success. We truly enjoyed having you all visit Tredudwell!
