Why our guest-first approach to wedding food just makes sense

Your wedding day is going to be filled with beautiful moments but more than anything, it’s about connection. That’s why we believe your catering should create a sense of shared joy, not just fill plates.

More and more of our couples are choosing to put their guests’ experience first, opting for relaxed, sociable dining like sharing platters or beautifully presented buffets. As our new in-house chef Glynn puts it, “Food connects people together“. We believe that nothing beats the buzz of guests chatting across the table as they reach for another slice of porchetta, or tuck into fresh seasonal salads.

Just think – no standing around in awkward queues or sitting at tables waiting to be served. No set menu panic and logistical nightmare – just delicious, thoughtful food that everyone can enjoy, all at once.

Our most loved wedding catering ideas

Our menus are designed with sharing in mind and that starts with generous, rustic boards in the middle of the table. Think:

  • Cured Cornish meats & terrines
  • Chargrilled Provençal vegetables
  • Homemade hummus & marinated feta
  • Artisan breads & local leaves

From there, your guests are treated to a main event of incredible roasted meats or vibrant veggie options like:

  • Slow-roasted Moroccan-spiced lamb shoulder with pomegranate & mint
  • Rolled porchetta with fennel, orange & cinnamon
  • Brined & smoked chicken with Cornish sea salt & lemon
  • Charred halloumi with olive capers & blistered tomatoes

And to accompany? Choose from seasonal sides and salads bursting with texture and colour like roasted mini hasselbacks, shaved fennel with Granny Smith apple, turmeric-scented couscous, and more.

If you’re not quite sure where to start with wedding catering ideas, don’t worry. Glynn and the team are here to help. We often find that once couples understand how much variety and personality can be found in a sharing-style wedding breakfast, they’re all in. It’s relaxed without feeling ‘casual’, generous and celebratory in all the right ways.

We also love to hear if you have a special dish or flavour memory linked to Cornwall as we’ve helped couples recreate favourite meals and add personal touches that mean something to them and their guests.

One of the joys of choosing Tredudwell is the ability to stretch the celebration out across the weekend. We can cater for arrival night dinners, post-wedding brunches, and everything in between. Our approach remains the same throughout with warm, flavourful, fuss-free food designed to bring people together.

Real wedding inspiration: Sam & Ross

Sam and Ross chose a relaxed BBQ wedding breakfast here at Tredudwell, and the result was a festival feel that felt effortlessly them. The whole atmosphere was laid-back and filled with fresh, colourful plates being passed around the garden terrace.

We believe barbecues can be so elegant and creative but they also make guests feel instantly at ease. Here at Tredudwell, our chef isn’t hidden in a kitchen; they become part of the party, turning the meal into a show!

From slow-roasted meats cooked over open flames, to summery sides served outdoors, the whole experience was personal and unforgettable. Their guests still talk about the dessert station, too with individual jars of lemon cheesecake, chocolate mousse with honeycomb, and vanilla mousse with berries.
