A Gorgeous May Wedding with a Dog at Tredudwell Manor – Laura & Tom

We are so excited to share this wedding with a dog with you today! A beautiful early summer day here at our Cornwall wedding venue in May offered Laura & Tom the most picture-perfect opportunity to celebrate their wedding with friends & family and Milo, their much-loved dog! So, with Tredudwell Manor looking glorious in the sunshine, the grounds alive with the freshest of summer greens, and the reception barn offering shelter from the heat of the sun plus an amazing team of suppliers having worked their magic and a very excited couple, it was on this day; May 17th 2023 that their dreams came true. From the very beginning, it was a pleasure to work with Laura & Tom and hear of their exciting plans, We shared lots of communication throughout the planning process which offered them both reassurance, as they, of course, had never before planned a wedding in Cornwall and with living in Berkshire wanted to ensure every detail had been taken care of before wedding day. Laura & Tom opted for a midweek wedding which isn’t that unusual these days. We wrote a blog about reasons to choose a midweek wedding here.

A relaxed wedding morning

The morning of the wedding was so wonderfully relaxed, with Laura & her bridal party getting ready in the Bridal Suite. The ever-amazing Hair By Emma C created the most beautiful styles and the bride & bridesmaids’ wishes for a natural look were perfected by MUA Balance of Beautee. The wedding dress was a delicately strapped, backless, and subtly embellished fitted bodice complimented by an absolutely stunning laced-edged train, fitted the bride perfectly, and what a wow moment it was to see Laura ready to get married.

The real flower floral bouquets created by Charlie from Blew Flowers added the final magic to the stunning wedding dress by Sophie Grace Bridal with the soft hues matching perfectly to the beautiful subtle pink bridesmaids dresses. Meanwhile, Tom, a super chilled groom took time to welcome guests and relax before the wedding ceremony. Looking exceptionally smart in his traditional three-piece long-tailed suit with a tie to match the colour scheme, Tom had the biggest of smiles on his face!

An indoor wedding with a dog

The civil Ceremony was officiated by the Registrars of My Cornwall Wedding who took care of all the legalities and ensured Laura & Tom felt totally relaxed. Now, with the sun shining and the skies blue it may seem the obvious choice to marry outdoors in our Ceremony Temples, however, Laura & Tom had from the very beginning always planned for an indoor ceremony at Tredudwell. Neither Laura nor Tom are huge fans of the heat nor the rain and they knew our indoor ceremony room in the barn offered protection from both whilst still ensuring stunning views over Cornish countryside. So, with the glass doors fully bi-folded and the beautiful mural artwork of the outdoor temples on display, everyone was super happy to be protected from the sun whilst looking out to stunning views. The outdoors truly was indoors!

Everything was perfect – from the styling created by Unique Designs By Tina with their beautiful floral arch sitting naturally against the opened doors & our apple orchard backdrop to the draped wedding chairs dressed in soft, romantic pinks to Milo, Laura & Tom’s much-loved dog being star guest on the front row to a very, very happy couple who exchanged vows in the presence of their loved ones.

For indoor ceremonies at our Cornwall wedding venue Tredudwell, all couples have the option to have on display the beautiful mural artwork designed and painted by the hugely talented Emily Hankins or if a blank canvas is more preferable, we can hang our stunning drapes to offer a neutral backdrop to which you may add your own styling. The choice is yours.

Champagne reception & the confetti moment

Greeted with flutes of bubbly served by Cornwall Chef under the shade of the trees in the grounds, this offered the perfect spot to commence celebrations. The terrace was styled with real flower columns by Blew Flowers and it was here guests gathered for confetti shot along the steps. Natural confetti was thrown to celebratory cheers and waiting at the bottom of the steps was chief guest Milo, ready for some newlywed Mum & Dad cuddles. Wedding guests enjoyed time to relax in the grounds and as they chatted laughed and enjoyed canapés, Laura & Tom headed off into the grounds with their photographer Tracey Warbey to capture some beautiful moments together. A little later, Tracey captured some beautiful group shots in front of the Manor House.

Wedding Breakfast – Time to Dine!

Guests took their seats in the reception barn which had been beautifully styled by Unique Designs By Tina with stunning ceiling creations complimenting the drapes and chandeliers. A fine feast was provided by the super Cornwall Chef with every guest being well looked after by their front-of-house team. From a starter of confit duck salad to a main offering a choice of slow-roasted lamb or beautiful beef brisket to desserts of macerated summer berries with smashed meringue & whipped vanilla cream plus chocolate brownie with Cornish clotted cream; each guest indulged until happily full. The wine flowed and speeches brought laughter and happy tears. And as dining came to an end, it was the perfect time for Laura & Tom to head back out into the grounds for some more romantic photos in the grounds of Tredudwell and inside the Manor House.

As Night Falls at our Cornwall wedding venue

So, after a stunning wedding with a dog infused with new lifelong memories, evening time allowed for the bride and groom to once again take centre stage with their first dance. Guests gathered to witness another special moment as Laura & Tom danced to their tune: Pointless by Lewis Capaldi. Music for the evening was provided by Sound One DJ and as shoes kicked off and dancing feet took to the floor the confetti cannon added to the fun! Kernow Forno set up their amazing wood-fired pizza truck and guests made their way to the courtyard to indulge in the best pizza in town. A truly wonderful occasion was enjoyed by everyone and we wish Laura & Tom many more years of happy memories to come.

A few words from Laura & Tom….& Milo:

We had our wedding day on Wednesday 17th May 2023 at Tredudwell Manor and everything was just absolutely perfect. Hayley and the team at Tredudwell are just amazing and supportive. We live in Berkshire and everything ran smoothly considering we live absolutely nowhere near Cornwall! Tredudwell Manor has great relationships with all suppliers which made the process of planning our wedding so much easier. I cannot fault anything as everything was just perfect and wish I could re-live our wedding day! Thank you so much Hayley and everyone at Tredudwell Manor for being AMAZING!
