However, as we know, the great Cornish weather can be beautifully unpredictable. At our Cornwall wedding venue, we believe that a little rain doesn’t need to dampen your spirits—in fact, it can add an unexpected charm to your day. The charm of a barn wedding venue in Cornwall

One of the many reasons couples choose Tredudwell Manor is our versatile barn wedding venue. Designed with both elegance and comfort in mind, our barn offers a beautiful indoor ceremony space and reception area that still feels connected to the surrounding Cornish countryside. With our large bi-fold doors that can be opened wide on sunny days or closed to create a warm, cosy atmosphere during a rain shower, it truly offers the best of both worlds.

The barn features high ceilings, rustic beams, and stunning views over the landscape, so even if the rain makes an appearance, you’ll still feel surrounded by nature. The space is bright, airy, and adaptable to any wedding style, from boho chic to timeless elegance.

Luke & Lauren loved the flexibility of the barn wedding venue here: “Tredudwell Manor in Fowey was the perfect place to hold our wedding. It was a beautiful blank canvas with so much charm, which made it easy to bring our vision to life. Being set up for both outdoor and indoor ceremonies meant that when the rain clouds appeared at the last minute, it was no problem for the ceremony to be relocated inside the venue, with the doors thrown open so we were able to keep the feeling of still being outdoors.”

At Tredudwell Manor, we know how important it is to be flexible, especially when it comes to the weather. That’s why our venue is designed to adapt effortlessly to changing conditions. If you’ve planned an outdoor ceremony and the weather has other ideas, we can quickly move things indoors without compromising the beauty or flow of your day.
Our indoor ceremony space offers breathtaking views through large windows, bringing the outdoors in while keeping you and your guests snug and dry. Plus, with our experienced coordination team on hand, every detail will be managed smoothly, so you can relax and soak up the joy of the day.

Laura & Tom loved knowing that no matter the British weather, they would have a gorgeous wedding at Tredudwell with their dog no less! In the end, the sun blazed down and all their guests were happy to be inside protected from the heat. You can read more about their wedding with a dog here.

Making the most of rainy day wedding moments

Rain on your wedding day isn’t just manageable—it can be magical. Here’s how:

  • Mix it up – Don’t fret if rain suddenly appears as we take complete care for you. After your ceremony, if rain is forecasted, your photographer may take a confetti shot as you walk back down the aisle and we clear the ceremony room to create a bright indoor space for you and your guests.
  • Cosy atmosphere: There’s something incredibly intimate about gathering indoors while the rain taps gently on the windows. Candles, fairy lights, and warm textures can create a beautifully cosy setting.
  • Good luck tradition: In many cultures, rain on your wedding day is considered a sign of good luck, symbolising cleansing, fertility, and a fresh start.
  • Romantic photo opportunities: Rain creates soft, natural light that photographers love. Add some clear umbrellas, and you’ll have timeless, romantic photos with a unique charm. Jas and Nick got some lovely couple portraits when the heavens opened and rain appeared, take a look at their navy and burgundy wedding here.
